Kinesiophobia in patients with Type 2 Diabetes
Slabá, Gabriela ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Kovařovic, Vojtěch (referee)
Title: Kinesiophobia in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2. Objectives: The objective of this research was to study the difference between the presence of fear of movement and the frequency of physical activity in patients with type 2 DM compared to a control group, and, if neuropathies are a predictor of fear of movement. Methods: The quantitative research began in November 2021 and finalized in April 2022. After that period the data was checked and evaluated. The data collection took place in the Diabetes Centre IKEM respecting all COVID-19 epidemiological restrictions declared by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. The control group, individuals without diabetes - healthy respondents - were addressed through the questionnaire webpage platform Survio.cz. In total, 278 participants filled out the questionnaire (139 patients with type 2 diabetes, 139 individuals without DM). The participants from both groups were paired out depending on age, gender, education, and family status. The research was conducted using three different questionnaires. The Tampa Scale questionnaire for Kinesiophobia TSK 13 - CZ, the Neuropathic Pain Symptom Inventory NPSIcz and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire IPAQ - short version. The data was processed using statistical methods such as...
Kinesiophobia, her predictors and consequences in selected chronic diseases - theoretical review
Schwarzová, Kristýna ; Mahrová, Andrea (advisor) ; Plevková, Lucia (referee)
Title: Kinesiophobia, her predictors and consequences in selected chronic diseases - theoretical review Objectives: To review the issue of the occurrence of kinesophobia in various chronic diseases and to identify its predictors. Methods: The diploma thesis was prepared in the form of a literature search using electronic resources of the National Medical Library, the Central Physical Education Library and professional databases Pubmed, EBSCO, SCORPUS, Medline, Web of Science. The first half of the work summarized all the theoretical background and knowledge of kinesophobia and selected chronic diseases. The second half was focused on the processing of the issue of kinesophobia in selected chronic diseases and on the mapping of their predictors. Results: Based on the processing of available resources dealing with the issue of kinesophobia in selected chronic diseases, a comprehensive overview was created. In patients with chronic low back pain, high levels of kinesophobia were most often associated with chronic pain, functional impairment associated with the disease, obesity, low levels of education, and emotional states (anxiety, depression). In coronary heart disease, high levels of kinesophobia were associated with a lack of understanding of the need for physical activity, social support,...
Kinesiophobia in patients on renal dialysis therapy - questionnaire study
Holečková, Kristýna ; Mahrová, Andrea (advisor) ; Heller, Jan (referee)
Thesis title: Kinesiophobia in patients on renal dialysis therapy - questionnaire study. The aims of the thesis: To characterise the term kinesiophobia and to evaluate the dependence of the measure of fear of movement on sociodemographic and clinical variables with the use of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia questionnaire (TSK-CZ) in a group of respondents on renal dialysis therapy and a group of healthy respondents. Methods: To determine the dependence of the measure of kinesiophobia on selected variables, the TSK-CZ questionnaire was used in Fresenius Medical Care dialysis centres across towns in the Czech Republic. The reference group of individuals with no renal disease - healthy respondents - was addressed by means of the Survio.cz website. The research comprised a group of respondents on renal dialysis therapy (n = 135) and a group of healthy respondents (n = 135). The collected data was processed using statistical methods - descriptive statistics and data analysis (t-test, Chi-squared test, ANOVA, Spearman's correlation coefficient). After that, the data was transferred to tables and charts and was evaluated. Results: On the basis of the TSK-CZ questionnaire, a significant difference in the measure of fear of movement was found between the respondents on renal dialysis and the healthy ones...

Fear of pain/movement (algophobia, kinesiophobia) in patients' functional difficulties
Škvorová, Adéla ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Tomová, Šárka (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the fear of pain/movement in patients with difficulties in the locomotor system. It is divided into two parts, namely the theoretical section and the empirical section. The theoretical section deals with vertebrogenic difficulties, pain, emotions and fear. It explains their origin, causes, methods of medical examination and treatment. At the end, it focuses on the issue of nursing care. The empirical section of the thesis focuses on the relationship of fear/pain and other clinical and demographic factors. It also examines possible predictors of the development of this fear. The conclusion of the empirical section describes the surveyed sample of respondents and determines the results of the research survey. The research was based on a quantitative questionnaire survey. Three questionnaires were used to collect the data - a non-standardized questionnaire, the Fear of Pain Questionnaire (FPQ-III-CZ) and a Czech version of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK-CZ). A numerical visual range was used to determine pain intensity and discomfort. The statistical data analysis methods were based on research hypotheses on the relationship between selected monitored variables. The relationship analyzes were based on Spearman's correlation coefficient, a point biserial...
